Exchanges and Returns:
All sales are final. However, if there is a malfunction or failure that occurs, we will offer a complete refund or exchange upon return receipt and complete product inspection.
Leathers we use:
- From where are our leathers sourced?
All the leathers we offer are made in USA tanneries with most specifically coming from Pennsylvania. If we offer a leather from outside of the US, we will state where it is from in the item description.
- Is Bassy & Co’s leather floppy or stiff?
We currently carry two types of leathers: bovine vegetable-tanned and bison chrome-tanned.
Vegetable-tanned is a stiffer, smooth leather that softens over time and will last forever. It is uniform in color but contains some characteristics such as “fat rolls”, tick bites, scratches and brands. It is not ever going to be floppy, but it will soften up.
Bison Chrome-Tanned leather is very floppy and has a ton of character. The leather has pebbling and grain in every bit of it. There are tons of color variations in each hide. It starts out soft and stays soft. Also, doesn’t require as much maintenance.
- Do you offer matching color elastics for traveler's notebooks?
For the most part - yes! We will match the elastics to the stitching choice of your cover. If we do not have the matching color, we will default to black.
Ordering Process:
Do not leave questions about your order in the notes after you have purchased an item. Please, clear up your questions prior to ordering!!!!
- Do you accept Custom Orders for leather goods?
We do not accept custom order requests. If you have any questions regarding the leather item you are purchasing, contact us at service@bassyandco.com prior to placing an order. We do not adjust the sizing of our leather products. All listings contain the dimensions of the item for sale.
- How do I determine which size Traveler’s Notebook Cover I should buy for my inserts?
All our Traveler’s Notebook listings have the cover dimensions and the insert size it is designed to house listed in the item description. Also, we have provided the dimensions of the cover lying open flat for those who wish to use the cover for alternate purposes. Use the insert size for your determination. We are happy to help at service@bassyandco.com if you are unsure of the size necessary for your insert.
3. What color stitching will be used on my order?
Unless a thread color choice was indicated at the time the order was placed, the stitching color will match the leather color choice.
Shipping:
- After I place my order, how long will it take for my order to ship?
It typically takes 5-7 business days from the date of purchase for your order to ship from our studio. Often, it will be even less time. Please allow additional time for shipping during busy times of the year, such as Christmas.
2. May I combine multiple orders?
Due to the numbers and our internal tracking of orders, once an order is placed, we are unable to combine orders. Please make sure you place multiple items in the same order, all at one time.
3. What method is used to ship my leather goods?
Standard Free Shipping- will default to First Class USPS includes tracking
Fast Shipping - will be either UPS Ground or Priority USPS
Super-Fast Shipping - will default to UPS 2nd day or USPS Priority Express 1-2 day
4. Once an order is placed it can only be revised by cancellation and a new order being submitted. We will not make any changes to existing orders. They will be constructed as ordered.
Problems with delivery:
- Lost or stolen packages, what do we do?
All offered shipping methods include tracking. Our Standard Free Shipping option does not include insurance. Fast and Super Fast Shipping include insurance of at least $50 depending on the carrier used (UPS or USPS).
In the event your package doesn't arrive, is lost, or damaged, please contact the carrier associated with the tracking number of your package for information. The carrier is responsible for your package once it leaves our studio. We are not liable for these items.

Defective Products:
- What do we consider a defective product?
Due to the nature of leather and each hide being distinctive and different we would like to remind our customers that color, texture, scent, pliability, characteristics and variations are not defects. A defect would be a problem with the construction of the leather item such as stitching coming out or a problem with a pocket not fitting properly
2. What should I do if I receive a defective item?
Please contact us at service@bassyandco.com and we will be happy to discuss your options.
